The change to this bit was easy! My horse spent a year in a pasture before I got him and did some head tossing with the regular snaffle he was being ridden in. I wanted to try a different bit, which he eventually took to, but he didn’t seem comfortable and I wasn’t sure if it was the bridle or the bit. First, I tried several bits. He still tossed his head and just did not seem comfortable. I ended up with a Micklem, which was not compatible with the bit he was used to, so I began trying more bits. More head tossing. As soon as I got this one, the head tossing stopped and I mean immediately. He was always pretty easy to bridle, but with this combination, he is the poster child for bridling. He lowers his head, opens his mouth, and reaches for this bit! I give no reward for this and have not changed anything in my method of tacking up. I can and have ridden bitless with this bridle, as well. He shows no preference.I am very happy with this bit!!
