Our good, broke trail horses seem to love this bit. And I feel better not using Bar pressure, rather tongue relief. This snaffle uses very slight pole pressure, but more effective I feel is my horse knows I’m asking when he feels the bit roll on his tongue as the slobber straps engage. I think this bit is more effective when you ‘pick up’, not ‘pull back’. He still reins real well and seems to have a nice relaxed mouth.
